1600 North Claremont: A Bucktown BlockWalk

Like Joe, I picked one of the streets I know best for my first BlockWalk: the 1600 block of North Claremont Avenue, near the Wicker Park / Bucktown border. The street is neither stately nor flashy and hardly ranks as one of Bucktown’s finest, but it’s home. As you’ve probably seen in past videos, it’s close to the corridor of big loft buildings along Wabansia Avenue, but its own streetscape is mostly a mix of old three-flat apartments (mine dates back to the turn of the 20th century), workers cottages, and late-’90s three-and six-flat condo buildings.

Have a video-capable camera? Put together your own BlockWalk and we’ll share it on our new BlockWalks YouTube channel.
