Recently, we discovered a 21-unit condo development at 2520 S Oakley Ave in the Heart of Italy neighborhood. Judging from the rendering, this new-construction building will be in stark contrast to the tidy worker’s cottages and flats that dominate the area.
There will be one- and two-bedroom units with stainless appliances and granite counters. We’re also aware that plans call for parking, private balconies, and prices will start in the mid-$200s.
In addition, retail is planned for the ground floor, according to the listing, but we can only hope that it will be a fluid part of the neighborhood’s legendary restaurant row, home to Italian institutions like Bacchanalia, Ignotz, La Fontanella, Bruna’s and Miceli’s Deli.
