The building’s unusual composition has a 3-story limestone base with 2-story arches. The middle five stories of the building are unornamented brick.
Three distinct repeating bands of sculptural reliefs distinguish the top three floors. The top two floors are framed by strong horizontal limestone bands.
2756 North Pine Grove has eight different 1- and 2-bedroom, 1-bath floor plans.
Floor plans are available online. As of early February 2014, rents ranged from $1,295 for 1-bedrooms and $1,900 for 2-bedrooms. The building has an additional charge for a utilities package.
Apartments have a mix of wood-look flooring and carpeting. Vintage touches include crown and picture-frame moldings. All of the apartments have a separate dining area.
Kitchens have been updated with newer cabinets in a variety of finishes, gas ranges and built-in microwaves.
Room sizes are reasonably spacious. Closet space varies, with several of the floor plans having limited closet space. All of the apartments have a generous amount of natural light from multiple windows.
Views. The building’s view corridors are constricted in most directions. A few of the high-floor southeast apartments have views of the park and lake.

Like most vintage buildings, 2756 North Pine Grove has a limited common-area amenities package.
The building has a lobby-level business center with free Wi-Fi.
There’s a rooftop sundeck with limited views. The building has no on-site parking, and parking in the area is scarce.
2756 North Pine Grove has on-site maintenance. It’s one of the few dog-friendly high-rises in the area and accepts dogs up to 40 pounds.
2756 North Pine Grove is on a busy street on the border of the Lincoln Park and Lakeview neighborhoods. It’s an attractive, convenient location, close to the park and a wide selection of bars, restaurants and neighborhood shops, and a block from Saint Joseph Hospital. Wrigley Field, Boystown and other attractions are within walking distance.
Shopping. 2756 North Pine Grove has excellent proximity to grocery shopping.
Dining, nightlife, entertainment.
There’s a good selection of bars and restaurants along Clark, Broadway and Diversey, and nearby in the park.
The popular Yolk opened recently in the builiding. Expect a wait for breakfast on weekends.
Chipotle, Starbucks, Potbelly and Panera are also on Diversey, just west of 2756 North Pine Grove.
Century Centre Cinema is just north of Diversey on Clark St.
Lincoln Park has too many attractions to list.
Active recreation opportunities are abundant, some of them unexpected. Fly fishing lessons, for example, are available at nearby North Pond in the park and the golf driving range at Diversey is open year-round. There are clay tennis courts and miniature golf adjacent to the driving range. With a little bit of luck you might strike up a friendship with someone who has a boat in Diversey Harbor.
The park also offers endless opportunities for quiet relaxation.
Transportation. 2756 North Pine Grove’s access to public transportation is good, but not great.
The nearest CTA train stop, at Diversey, is a 12-minute walk from 2756 North Pine Grove.
Taxi service is nearly always available outside the building. Several Zipcar car-sharing locations are nearby.
Access to I-90/94 and the city’s expressway grid is inconvenient, and can be a source of major misery during peak hours.
Rentals are typically available in a number of nearby condo buildings, sometimes at lower rents than in the managed apartment buildings.
