Lakeshore East's Aqua is a long drink of water

aquablog2.jpgMeet Aqua, which at 82-stories, will be the tallest high-rise at the Lakeshore East development, that sits on land south of Wacker Drive and west of Lake Shore Drive. Magellan Development tells us that Aqua will be the first high-rise in Chicago to include condos, rental apartments, a hotel and a retail component. Sales open April 8.
We were taken aback by the number of amenities proposed for Aqua. Let’s see: a deck with gazebos, cabanas, pools, hot tubs, fire pit, running track (?), gardens and a partridge in a pear tree.

But wait, there’s more.

Inside the building will be an Internet cafe, wine room (!), billiards and game room, coffee bar and lounge, private party suite with kitchen, library, skygarden and a business center. Impressive, although just imagining the size of the monthly assessment bill makes us wince.

The one- to three-bedroom condos start in the $260s.

Aqua’s wavy glass curtain is designed to reflect the movement of nearby Lake Michigan, as we told you earlier. My considered opinion is that it’s kinda cool. What do y’all think?
