A hardhat tour of the new Gateway West Loop apartments

The new Gateway West Loop is gearing up for first occupancies late in July.

Last Friday afternoon I rode the construction elevator to the roof for a look at the skyline view and a brief walk through several of the apartments that are nearing completion.

Gateway West Loop is a full-amenity building with a rooftop pool deck that serves up wraparound views of the cityscape and skyline.

The studio to 2-bedroom, 2-bath apartments at Gateway have wood-look floors, high ceilings, floor-to-ceiling windows and in-unit washer / dryers. Many of the apartments have private balconies. Kitchens have white quartz countertops, under-mount sinks, good cabinet and counter space, and a stainless steel appliance package that includes a gas range, built-in microwave and side-by-side refrigerator / freezer with an ice maker.

Rents are tentatively set to range from $1,491 to $2,161 for studios, $1,766 to $2,146 for convertibles, $2,101 to $2,815 for 1-bedrooms, $2,489 to $3,033 for 1-bedroom plus den apartments and $2,939 to $3,887 for 2-bedroom, 2-baths.

You can register at Gateway West Loop‘s website to ensure that you’re alerted to early opportunities to lock up one of the more desirable apartments.

Mariano’s West Loop location is next door to the building and the new Whole Foods at 1 N Halsted is just around the corner. Walmart Neighborhood Market is a few short blocks east and Jewel-Osco and Target are about a half-mile north and west, respectively.

There’s an abundance of bars and restaurants within a short walk, including local favorite Green Street Smoked Meats.

Bus, train and CTA transit stops and expressway access are all conveniently nearby. Mary Bartelme Park, which has a dog-friendly area, is around the corner.

Note: Gateway West Loop is a new YoChicago advertiser.
