A major makeover underway at Park Lincoln apartments

Park Lincoln, 2470 N Clark St in Lincoln Park, was acquired recently by an affiliate of Reside Living. The15-story, 140-unit apartment tower was undergoing a major makeover when I visited yesterday.

The apartments are being upgraded with entirely new kitchens and baths, wood-look floors and in-unit washer / dryers. The new kitchens have granite counters, glass tile backsplashes, under-cabinet lighting, under-mount sinks and a stainless steel appliance package that includes a dishwasher and built-in microwave.

The apartments had some good touches that won’t change: exposed brick walls, unusual in a high-rise, and balconies off most of the units.

The common areas are also being enhanced. A sleek new lobby is nearing completion and a new fitness room was ready for the finishing touches at the time of my visit. A new laundry room with commercial-grade equipment is being created to supplement the in-unit washer / dryers. The hallways have new carpeting and bright lighting.

A new roof deck is slated for completion late next spring, and the sweeping views it serves up promise to be a big draw.

The apartments also have good views to the east, and views of the downtown skyline and the neighborhood from west-facing units.

Retail space in the building accommodates La Fournette, a popular French bakery / café, Cycle Smithy and a US Post Office branch. There are, of course, a huge variety of shops, restaurants and bars in the immediate area.

I’ll be updating our review of the building with this information.
