A River North Halloween at Ward Park

You don’t have to go back very far to recall a time when you could go for weeks without seeing a kid in River North, especially in the area west of Orleans St. And you don’t have to go much further back than that to reach a time when there were few people living in the area.

The part of River North bounded by Orleans St, the Ohio off-ramp from the Kennedy, the Chicago River and Chicago Ave is now home to thousands of apartments, condos and luxury single-family homes – and a veritable swarm of little people.

The River North Residents Association hosted its first annual Halloween Parade at A. Montgomery Ward Park earlier today, and I stopped by for just a few minutes. You can see more pictures from the event in an album at Flickr.
