A view from the Roosevelt Road bridge

by Joe Zekas on 4/23/14

If you’re driving across the Roosevelt Road bridge, headed for the Museum Campus, slow down for a closer look at the sculptures that prefigure your destination. You’ll see dolphins (the Shedd Aquarium), an astrolabe (the Adler Planetarium) and prehistoric creatures (the Field Museum).

Better yet, park at the Whole Foods west of the bridge and take a walk. You’ll see great urban vistas that hark back to Chicago’s railroad-laden past, and large development sites that will help shape its future.

From the cautionary tales I have heard, “park[ing] at the Whole Foods west of the bridge and tak[ing] a walk” is frequently a recipe for having your car towed.

Thanks for the caution.

There’s paid parking above Whole Foods. Your car isn’t going to be towed from the paid area.
