The parks of Lincoln Park: Wiggly Field

Wiggly Field

About the only thing I can imagine that might be worse than the smell of napalm in the morning is Wiggly Field when temperatures are pushing into the mid-90s, humidity is at 63-percent, there’s a 22-mile-an-hour wind out of the southwest, and you’ve got a dewpoint of 69.

The playground for pooches is part of Grace Noethling Park Playlot, 2645 N Sheffield Ave in Lincoln Park. The Chicago Park District built the park in 1970 to help meet the recreational needs of underserved areas of the city, according to its Web site. Apparently, those needs have changed and these days, dogs without yards are part of the city’s underserved.
