Affordable workforce housing apartments at new luxury tower

Xavier, an exciting new apartment tower across from Target at the edge of Old Town, has a limited number of apartments set aside as workforce housing at affordable rents.

Eligible studios rent for $1,595 a month, 1-bedrooms for $1,710 and 2-bedrooms for $2,052. Applications will be accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Applicants need to document annual income of 120% of the Chicago-area median income. Acceptable incomes range, depending on household size, from $47,850 to $73,920 for studios, $51,300 to $83,160 for 1-bedrooms an $61,560 to $99,720 for 2-bedrooms.

Applicants need to submit a completed application for all leaseholders, a $450 non-refundable administrative fee and a $50 non-refundable application fee. Funds must be in the form of a cashier’s check or money order. Cash, credit cards and personal checks are not accepted.
