Alta at K Station focuses holiday giving on children

Chicago’s real estate brokers and developers have a long, proud tradition of charitable giving throughout the year, and they typically step up their efforts during the holiday season.

Alta at K Station, Fifield Companies’ 848-unit two-tower luxury apartment community in the Fulton River District, is focusing its holiday giving on children, according to a recent news release:

Alta at K Station kicked off its holiday season by hosting a toy drive for Children’s Memorial Hospital. Alta at K Station will be collecting the toys up until a few days before Christmas at which point Randy and Steve Fifield, respectively vice chair and principal, and president of Fifield Companies, will deliver the toys to Children’s Memorial Hospital.

“Children’s Memorial has always had a special place in our hearts,” said Randy Fifield. “In 1999, one of our daughters underwent open heart surgery at Children’s Memorial shortly after her birth. You gain a lot of respect watching the staff care for the children. Steve and I will forever be grateful to Children’s Memorial, which is why we support it however we can – whether it’s serving on the hospital board, creating outreach programs like What’s up Doc” or making sure our residents are aware that even the smallest gesture, like a toy or stuffed animal, can mean so much to a child, especially one who is in the hospital during the holidays.”

Alta at K Station also “adopted” 25 local children through a partnership with Grant a Wish, Inc. in an effort to bring joy to some of the Chicago area’s neediest children by granting their holiday wishes.

“We’re always amazed at the generosity of our renters,” said Randy Fifield. “And with close to 1,000 people living at Alta at K Station, we have a great captive audience that sees our donation boxes in the lobby every day. It really hits home with them how important it is to give back and be involved in the community-at-large.”
