Our Christmas Day post about The Huron (née Club) sparked some lively conversation, to say the least. Last week, Patrick Rollens strolled over to the corner of State and Huron to check out The Huron’s model. There, he spoke with broker Tricia Fox about the high-rise, which is supposed to break ground this spring.
Developer Paul Stanley modified the Huron’s original 77-unit floor plan, reducing the number of residences to 47 and expanding unit sizes to 1,800 square feet or larger. Price points range from $1 million to $5 million.

Patrick raises an interesting question of French grammar.
This takes me back to my college days when French was one of my majors. I believe that buildings are typically (la maison being an exception) masculine in gender and of course “le club.”
Should we have said “né Club” rather than “née Club?”
