An open, light-filled 2-bedroom with 180-degree River North views

by sponsored post on 1/21/13

The Montgomery, 500 W Superior St, in River North, is the 28-story former corporate headquarters of Montgomery Ward. It was designed by Minoru Yamasaki, completed in 1972, and converted to condos in 2004. The striking marble-clad verticals that brace the building’s four corners give it a distinctive presence on the city’s skyline.

Unit 2502 is a high-ceilinged, high-floor 2-bedroom that was converted from a 3-bedroom, enabling generously-sized living and sleeping areas. Floor-to-ceiling windows afford an eye-popping view as you enter the home.

All of the unit’s finishes and custom built-ins are distinctive, modern upgrades. The unit was recently listed for sale at $899,900.

Susie Schechtman of Baird & Warner is our tour guide in the video, which was sponsored by SeeChicagoRealEstate.com.
