Bowmanville home aims to crack the $1 million mark

It’s been nearly two years since we visited the 2200 block of Farragut for the video tour, above, of a home with Eric Rojas, one of YoChicago’s advertisers. The home, at 2209 W Farragut, was listed for sale at $419,000 and sold for $420,000.

A newly-built 5-bedroom, 3 ½ bath home just down the block at 2227 W Farragut was just listed for sale at $1,050,000. We haven’t been able to find any record of a home in the Bowmanville neighborhood having sold at that price point.

Can a home in Bowmanville command a million dollars? Stay tuned.

  • Yes, and at least one listed home has in the past couple years. 1944 Farragut sold April 2013 for $1,000,000 (a converted grey stone re-sale house on a 29′ x 125′ lot).

Currently, a new construction house at 1834 W Farragut is under contract with the listing price of $1,200,000. I have no doubt that will close well over one million.

There have been a handful of impressive private custom builds for home owners in the last couple years that if re-sold would go for well above that $1,200,000 mark. One is a double lot house on Farragut as well (in its own category). However, new houses built on a slightly larger than standard lot can achieve one million now in Bowmanville (a very cozy neighborhood close to all Lincoln Square and Andersonville amenities).

The neighborhood also will have its own Half Acre Brewery at North Hoyne and West Balmoral.
