Bob Darrow on Broadway retail and alternatives to Boys Town

by Joseph Askins on 10/20/09

From the Center on Halsted, Bob Darrow and I walked east along Waveland Avenue to Broadway. If Halsted Street represents the heart of Boys Town nightlife, Broadway is its daytime counterpart, a corridor of stores catering to the neighborhood’s everyday needs.

During the walk, I ask Bob whether Boys Town is still a residential destination for the gay community. It’s a viable place for renters, but buyers can find better further up the Red Line in parts of Uptown and Edgewater, he says.
