Bucktown, from hookers and hipsters to family haven

by Joe Zekas on 1/2/10

Koenig & Strey’s Greg Viti is a third-generation Realtor. I first met him barely a year into his 23-year career in real estate.

I recently sat down with Greg at his Bucktown home for a wide-ranging chat about the neighborhood. We then set out for a drive around Bucktown, talking as we went about everything from the luxury market to distressed properties.

In the first part of our visit, above, you’ll hear about the state of the Bucktown market – volume down 50% from the peak several years ago, and prices that are “stagnant” after “they came way down.”

You’ll find much more video from our Bucktown visit at this YouTube playlist.
