Built-out balconies at Trio's tower

by Joseph Askins on 4/23/09

Trio, 670 W Wayman St, Chicago

When I asked, “What’s the news from Trio?” earlier this month, I was referring less to the state of sales (we’ve known for some time that Jameson Real Estate is handling things these days) and more to the progress of construction on its 22-story tower, located at 670 W Wayman St in the Fulton River District. Mark stopped by the site a couple weeks ago and found a new sign of movement: several painted balconies outfitted with rails and glass enclosures. I’m not sure how long they’ve been there, but it’s the first time I’ve seen them.

Jameson still hasn’t posted listings for tower units, as far as I can see, but agents continue to hold open houses for some of the development’s mid-rise condos. A tipster informed me this morning that one of those condos, the one-bedroom / one-bath unit #209C, dropped in price from the $220s to the $200s on Monday and bounced back up to the $210s on Wednesday.

The brokerage’s three other listings are for two-bedrooms priced from the $250s to the $370s. Five resales are listed in the $270s and $280s.
