Chicago foreclosure rates on the mend

In October of last year Chicago had the 3rd highest foreclosure rate in the nation among metro areas with a population greater than 200,000.

In the third quarter of this year, according to data recently released by RealtyTrac, Chicago had the 19th highest foreclosure rate, with one in every 208 housing units in some stage of foreclosure.

The foreclosure rate in Illinois declined by 10.1% from Q2 to Q3 of this year and fell 20.42% on a year-over-year basis in Q3.
