Doug Ayers, who in the past decade led two of the largest residential brokerages in Chicago, Koenig & Strey and Coldwell Banker, passed away yesterday at age 50 after a battle with cancer.
Above all, Doug encouraged the absolute best in people and did it in an inspirational manner.
This quote from Nancy Nagy, interim COO at K&S, sums it up best.
“Doug was an inspiration to me and to everyone at Koenig & Strey. Though real estate was his passion, his gift was the ability to encourage and develop people. He helped us to be better, kinder and more global in our thinking, lessons that reached far beyond real estate.”
Having worked for Doug myself in the 90s and later with him as a client, I can say that he was indeed a rare man of integrity who will be missed by many.
