Christmas in Homan Square

If you spend any time in the Homan Square part of East Garfield Park taking photos of homes with Christmas decorations, someone will eventually tell you that you shouldn’t miss the 3300 block of Fluornoy St.

Some of the residents are pictured, above, putting the finishing touches on their work. They invited me to return at night, when the block is all lit up — and I will.

A retired Jewel manager who introduced himself as Saint Nick invited me to take his picture, but I declined, since the only thing Christmasy about him was his warmth and good cheer.
