City views aplenty from Mondial's penthouse

It’s never been a stated goal of ours to get at least one panorama from every new high-rise in Chicago, but it’s not a bad idea, either. Yesterday Jeremy and I made the short walk west to CITTA Development’s Mondial, 900 W Huron St, to take advantage of the clear skies and afternoon sun.

We made it up to the 14th floor, site of a 3,100 square-foot east-facing penthouse with an impressive 2,079 square-foot terrace wrapping around its northern, eastern, and southern sides. The home has already sold, according to a price sheet Mark picked up earlier this year. Like most of the spaces we’ve seen, the penthouse has drywall but is otherwise very raw. Needless to say, once the unit is built out and ready for occupancy, its buyer will have a great spot from which to survey the entire downtown skyline.

Prices at Mondial range from the $230s for a 686 square-foot studio (characterized as a “loft” on Mondial’s price sheet) to the $990s for a 2,725 square-foot four-bedroom.
