Coeval consists of 10- and 16-story buildings with a total of 261 apartments at 1419 S Wabash and 51 E 14th St in the South Loop. The development includes street-level retail and 95 on-site parking spaces. First occupancies began in May of 2019.

CMK Companies is the developer, with Pappageorge Haymes as the architecture firm and Clark Construction as the general contractor.

Coeval offers studio, one-, and two-bedroom, two-bath apartments. Apartments feature high, exposed-concrete ceilings, floor-to-ceiling windows with solar shades, plank flooring, programmable thermostats, and in-unit washer / dryers.

The location

Coeval has a convenient South Loop location with quick access to the Museum Campus, the Loop, Soldier Field, McCormick Place and the CTA transportation hub at Roosevelt Road.

Coeval residents have easy access to a number of local colleges and universities, including DePaul, Roosevelt, Columbia, The Art Institute and the University of Illinois at Chicago.

Shopping. Residents at Coeval have good access to grocery shopping.

Trader Joe’s and Jewel-Osco are a short walk north on Wabash.

Target and Whole Foods are a bit further west along Roosevelt Rd, and there is a Mariano’s on Clark St. There are also several convenience stores in the immediate area. Jewel and Target have full-service pharmacies, and a Walgreens is just to the west on Roosevelt Rd.

The nearby Shops at Roosevelt Collection has a wide variety of retail, restaurants and an ICON Theatre.

There’s a large and growing cluster of big-box shops just west of the river along Roosevelt Rd, and State Street and Magnificent Mile shops are a few minutes’ away.

Dining, nightlife.
There are scores of dining and nightlife options within a few blocks walk of Coeval, and the number is growing.

Parks, recreation. Grant Park, “Chicago’s front yard,” is a short walk northeast of Coeval.

Spanning nearly half a square mile, the 319-acre park accommodates a wide range of active recreational pursuits and spots for quiet contemplation.


Millennium Park, at the North end of Grant Park, is one of the most exciting and architecturally interesting public spaces in the country. Coeval residents will pass the Art Institute on the way to Millennium Park.

Northerly Island beach is a short bike ride from Coeval.

Transportation. Public transportation from the location is excellent.

The CTA’s Roosevelt Road station has Red, Green and Orange Line stops for easy access to north, south and west side locations and to Midway Airport.

A wide variety of CTA bus routes criss-cross the area, with stops near the building.

Taxis and ride-sharing services are readily available. Zipcar locations are nearby.

I-90/94 and I-290 can generally be reached within a few minutes. Lake Shore Drive access is nearby.
