The Manor Homes on Belden

We mentioned Lincoln Park’s Manor Homes on Belden over the weekend, and yesterday we had a chat with Koenig & Strey sales agent Peter Tortorello to find out a little more.

“I think people feel very proud to walk up to the building,” said Tortorello. “It’s a beautiful stone façade with a lot of Victorian details like turrets, bays, stained glass windows and a beautiful staircase approaching on both sides.”

Buyers at the 12-unit condo conversion, from developer S. Thomas Homes, will get all the vintage architectural details with contemporary finishes like exposed brick walls, stainless steel appliances, granite countertops, marble bathrooms and hardwood floors. Duplex units at the front of the building have a lofted second level overlooking living rooms with 20-foot ceiling heights and expansive windows, and six rear units have new decks. “Although it’s a landmark building, the interior is much more contemporary,” said Tortorello.

With prices on the renovated one- and two-bedroom condos ranging from the $340s to the $530s, The Manor Homes has drawn both first-time and out-of-town buyers looking to own a piece of the Lincoln Park lifestyle. “They want Lincoln Park,” Tortorello said, “and this is extraordinary space in Lincoln Park. The units are very nicely done, very dramatic. It’s interesting space.”

Tortorello said five of the Manor Homes were under contract, and deliveries were scheduled for the end of April. Six outdoor parking spaces are available for $35,000 each.
