Sales haven’t moved at The Axis since Yo checked in last August, but the Lincoln Park conversion project offers something that’s still sought-after in today’s market: turnkey condos.
Two “upgraded” homes are ready for immediate occupancy, says Robin Miner, of @properties. All told, 12 one-bedroom condos are available at 1600 N Halsted St, and developer Schubert Properties is selling most of the homes as-is; that means Formica countertops and carpeted floors dating back to the property’s previous life as an apartment building (circa 1992).
At least two of the condos got the special treatment (hardwood floors, granite countertops and stainless-steel appliances), and they’re ready and waiting for new owners. Prices at the development range from the from the $220s to the $270s.
