When we first saw the conversion underway at 1735 W Division St during September’s Wicker Park week (left), the building was still in the throes of the gut-rehab process and, as such, it looked a wreck. The 12-unit conversion is looking much better now (right), though. All of the windows are up, and the bays are almost completely sided– wisely, in black instead of white. In a neighborhood where contemporary and classic architecture are close cohabitants (Ranquist‘s ultra-modern 1711 West Division is a few doors down, for example), we’re always glad to see a beautiful old building get a second chance. Two-bedroom condos at 1735 W Division range from the $280s to the $350s.
