Construction checkup: 235 Van Buren

by Joseph Askins on 7/15/09

Chicago Architecture Foundation guides drop Ralph Johnson’s name several times during their Architecture River Cruises, but mine didn’t spend any time talking about one of the architect’s newest buildings, CMK Companies235 Van Buren. Nevertheless, the Chicago River is a good place from which to see the nearly completed high-rise. I turned my camera toward the tower on Saturday as our boat made its way down the river’s southern branch — the commentary you’ll hear from our host focuses on other buildings in the area, but the images should give you an idea of how 235 is coming along.
