As promised, here’s a look at Pitch Development’s finished product at 2738 W Armitage Ave, along with a shot from Andy’s visit in July.
As you can see, Armitage Square has its brick, its windows, its railings and its residents. It also has its requisite graffiti, which is just everyone’s way of saying, “Welcome to the neighborhood!”
As I mentioned yesterday, 12 of the building’s two- and three-bedroom condos are still available at prices ranging from the $290s to the $490s.

on the original rendering there are 4 lovely trees, I hope they will be planted soon and this isn’t another case of false advertising.
Please tell me this isn’t being marketed as “West Bucktown.”
they’re just avoiding it:
“Situated at the convergence of the vibrant and eclectic Bucktown and Logan Square neighborhoods, Armitage Square affords proximity to the area’s many ethnic eateries, art spaces and music venues.”
although I’d add that calling California the convergence point is a bit of a stretch.
For what its worth, West Bucktown has a neighborhood association, http://www.westbucktown.org/ , that defines the neighborhood as a Chicago community inside the boundaries west of Western Ave., east of California, north of North Ave. and south of Armitage.

I guess it’s time for you to start the Old West Roscoe Village Preservation Society. Kick it off with a garden walk along Belmont.
I was thinking “East Belmont Cragin” – classy.
The original rendering also showed a beautiful green roof/courtyard between the south and north buildings. That too disappeared. They got their generous zoning change. Then they did away with all the things they promised the alderman/neighborhood. Typical.
