Construction update: The Granville

The Granville at 6238 N Broadway St in Edgewater

To follow up on the sales update I posted last week, here’s a new photo of The Granville, The Access Group’s new 160-unit condo development at 6238 N Broadway in Edgewater. The building is topped off and most of the windows are in, but it looks like there’s a bit more work to be done before people start moving in next month.

From street level, those protruding windows look a little odd, but the folks moving into the units that face Broadway will probably appreciate them in the winter, as it will give them a little bit of southern exposure.

If I were considering moving into this building, I’d be pretty anxious to find out what will fill that 34,000 square-foot retail space. There’s a Dominick’s about a block away on Broadway, so I doubt it’ll be a grocery store. I also noticed that this place that it’s just a block away from the Red Line’s Granville Station, which, once all of this slow-zone elimination work clears up, will be a useful neighborhood amenity.

For the sake of comparison, here’s the architect’s rendering:

Hello, this is a very belated response to this post, but the retail supposedly is going to be anchored by Staples (and maybe a few smaller stores, not sure).
