Demolition update – Clybourn Corridor retail sites

by Joe Zekas on 11/28/12

If you think that the Clybourn Corridor already has enough retail outlets, you’d be lining up on a different side of that issue than some local landowners.

CRM Properties Group has nearly completed clearing the site on the southwest corner of Weed and Fremont. This is one of four parcels totaling 110,000 square feet of land that run from North Ave south of Weed St. The sites that comprise The Shops on Fremont are zoned for 550,000 square feet of retail development.

The demolition of the existing building at the northwest corner of Sheffield and Weed is making way for a 24,500 square foot build-to-suit single-level retail outlet with parking on the roof.

I asked one of the local shoppers to take a break from feeding the pigeons and give me a wave and a smile. He obliged.
