Dog days in Chicago highrises

dogJust how pet-friendly can a highrise condo be? Dog-ownership is common in highrise-happy neighborhoods like the South Loop and developers often tout dog runs as part of the amenities package of their building. Some, like 740 Fulton in the West Loop, are even starting to offer the services of dog walkers to time-starved professionals.

We want to hear from highrise dwellers with dogs. Just how big are these dog runs, and can an animal actually break out into a pant on one of them?Does having a dog-run in the building make a pet-owner less inclined to take their dog to the park? Are some breeds more suited to highrises than others? We think the city should provide more off-leash areas in parks.
