Fat Tire fills Chicago neighborhoods

A few years ago there were only a few bars in Chicago that sold Fat Tire, the amber ale microbrew from Fort Collins, Colo. Today the beer is widely available in Chicago, and every now and then you will see a Fat Tire sign in a bar window, or a Fat Tire beer truck rolling down the street.

This is good news, because this is good beer. If you are interested in trying it, you obviously don’t have to look far. I spotted it in the cooler case at Old Town Sundries, a corner liquor store that also sells aspirin, chips, magazines and lottery tickets (1820 N. Clark St., where Lincoln and Wells meet).

If Old Town Sundries has it, everybody has it.
