First move-ins at Roosevelt Collection to begin in June, model unit to open by April

It’s time to grab new photos, because Jordan Cooper of Centrum Properties says construction on the Lofts at Roosevelt Collection is flying. The two eight-story mid-rises in the mixed-use development going up along Roosevelt Road between Wells and Clark streets will be ready for first move-ins in June, he says.

When I spoke with Cooper, he was in Toronto, consulting with a designer about furnishings for a model unit that will open in March or April.

The sales center on Clark Street has also been pretty busy, according to Cooper, who says he’s seeing a proportionate increase in interest among serious buyers as construction progresses.

“Typically in the past, when we put windows in the building, it generates more interest,” he says.

About 56 percent of the 342 homes in the development have been sold so far. Centrum is also close to signing a couple of major retail tenants, which will be announced next month, Cooper says.

One feature of Roosevelt Collection that we haven’t written too much about lately is the 43-story high-rise shown in most of its renderings. Cooper says the building is still planned, but its exact use it has not been determined. The original plan, which called for 294 condos, could still happen if the market cooperates, but Cooper also leaves open the possibility that the tower be used for rental apartments or a hotel.

Other renderings show throngs of animated shoppers, laying on blankets and sipping white wine, as you can see below.

Roosevelt Collection has a doppelgänger in Lincolnshire. Suburban design at its best!

Where exactly would this 43-story be located?

This video overview at YouTube gives you a good picture of the proposal. And, you can see the scale model with the high-rise at the SW corner of the project, in this video.

Do you mean NW corner? Looks like it will block the views of the Sears Tower…

Stokes,

It’s NW. What was I thinking?
