50 East Chestnut: The technology edition

50 East Chestnut, a 34-unit high-rise at 50 E Chestnut St in River North, ChicagoOver the summer, Joe reported on pricing and availability at 50 East Chestnut, Jameson‘s luxury high-rise at 50 E Chestnut St in River North, and judging from the updated price sheet I received this morning, it doesn’t look like too much has changed since then. Twenty of the building’s 34 full-floor residences have been sold, and 11 homes are currently for sale at prices ranging from $2.87 million to $3.56 million. The remaining three units currently serve as furnished models and Jameson’s design center.

Aside from the development’s location and the roughly 3,800 square-foot floor plans, Jameson is pushing the building’s customizable technology features. In fact, these homes are so wired, “a centralized climate controlled audio/video equipment closet” is needed just to manage all of the different systems.

A Lutron HomeWorks lighting system controls the lighting throughout the home and can be activated using small keypads that are located throughout the condo. Motorized window treatments can be installed at a price of $1,750 per window, and speaker wiring connects to the family / media room, dining room, library, living room, kitchen, and master bedroom and bath.

If you wish to play God and control everything at once, an integrated AMX home automation system is available. The AMX system is triggered using a wireless touch panel, and it controls motorized shades, lighting and entertainment systems in the home.
