Pearson on the Park, Hawthorne Development Corp.’s conversion at 222 E Pearson, is so close to the Magnificent Mile that buyers might wake up one morning and find tourists milling around their kitchens. The 27-story Gold Coast tower prides itself on being in the heart of the action, and that sales pitch appears to be working: nearly 80 percent of its 219 units are sold. Construction is set to wrap up by the fall.
Prices start at $350,900 for two-bedrooms and $462,900 for three-bedrooms. The models I toured included a room just off the kitchen that could be used as a dining room, office or bedroom.
Buyers can choose from Whirlpool, KitchenAid and Bosch kitchen appliances. The stackable, front-loading washer / dryers in the units are by Asko. Parking is an extra $39,000 and storage lockers are available at $500 a pop (most of the units have limited closet space).
