Construction checkup: Museum Park Place South

Are we seeing the beginnings of Museum Park Place South‘s distinct tic-tac-toe detailing? I didn’t notice it at the time, but there’s just a hint of red on one of the tower’s recessed balconies. Eventually the building will resemble the one seen at bottom (below a photo of the building’s eight four-story townhomes fronting Calumet Avenue).

We’ve reported in the past that more than half of the 276 condos in Museum Park Place’s southern tower were already under contract. Nevertheless, an MLS query for the building’s address, 1901 S Calumet Ave, surfaces 159 homes for sale, or almost 58 percent of the tower’s total inventory.

Prices for those unsold units are:

  • Seven one-bedroom / one-baths with 830 square feet, priced from the $290s to the $320s
  • Nine one-bedroom / one-baths with 725 square feet, priced from the $300s to the $330s
  • Six one-bedroom / one-baths with 735 square feet, priced from the $310s to the $320s
  • 19 two-bedroom / one-baths with 1,035 square feet, priced from the $350s to the $410s
  • 19 two-bedroom / two-baths with 1,070 square feet, priced from the $370s to the $420s
  • 58 two-bedroom / two-baths with 1,200 square feet, priced from the $450s to the $530s
  • 15 two-bedroom / two-baths with 1,245 square feet, priced from the $470s to the $540s
  • 22 three-bedroom / two-baths with 1,580 square feet, priced from the $560s to the $600s
  • Four three-bedroom / two-baths with 1,625 square feet, priced in the $600s

Amenities in the tower include a fitness facility on the first floor and a swimming pool, club house and sundeck on the roof. Homes will start closing in late summer.
