Vision on State nearly complete in South Loop

We’ll kick off our look at new high-rises under construction with Renaissant Development Group‘s Vision on State, the Pappageorge / Haymes-designed high-rise that, during the course of its construction, has drawn comments ranging from “gruesome and ghoulish. . . a thoroughly grotesque piece of design” to a tepid “I don’t think it’s as bad as some I’ve seen.” Now that the 19-story building is nearly complete, we can honestly say it has grown to be everything the rendering promised it would be. The South Loop development, the prices of which were more visionary than the design, is sold out. Next up for Renaissant is the more modern Park 1000, which is more than 50 percent sold and due to break ground next month.
