The annual three-day garage sale event at the sprawling Mill Creek development in Geneva kicked off yesterday with strong participation despite the gloomy weather.
More than 250 homes are participating in this year’s sale, and many of them have an almost astonishing variety of household goods, furniture, games, sports items, and more on display in their garages and spilling over into their driveways and yards.
You needn’t worry about the best items having been picked over, since some of the homeowners don’t begin their participation until Friday or Saturday.
The National Association of Home Builders voted Mill Creek the “Best overall community in the Midwest.” If you’re looking to buy a new home in the Geneva area, the garage sale is a great way to meet some of your potential new neighbors – and pick up some great bargains at the same time.
When Joe Zekas visited on Thursday his son bought a $300-retail driver for $20. Did we mention that Mill Creek has top-notch 18-hole golf courses on site?
