If Rapunzel lived in Chicago she'd live in Washington Park

rapunzelwashblog1.JPGNow there’s a balcony that a girl could let her hair down from. We’ve been cruising around the Washington Park neighborhood, which is in the early stages of condo-fication, and we’ve been heartened to see these old-school balconies.

We hate all those squidgy little black iron balconies that are ubiquitous on new-construction condos, and we seriously doubt they could support a king’s son.

We hear that developers are enclosing the balconies in glass so that residents can use them as sunrooms. But we like the idea of leaving them just as they are, and using them as a platform from which to give neighbors the royal wave or the middle finger, depending on your relationship with said neighbor.
