“This city is really defined by a south and a north. And they are two different worlds,” says playwright Luis Alfaro in the video.

Actress Charin Alvarez, who moved from Little Village to Lincoln Park, agrees with the sentiment that “it was almost a bigger shock moving from the South Side to the North Side than moving from Mexico to Chicago.”

The West Side, as is often the case in Chicago, goes unmentioned in the Victory Gardens video.
