Inside 600 North Fairbanks: Where lobbies win awards

by Erik Stonikas on 9/28/09

Joe’s tour of Streeterville with Francesca Rose, a Prudential Rubloff agent and newest participant in our Chicago Real Estate Experts program, brought the duo to 600 North Fairbanks, a high-rise that architect Helmut Jahn’s designed to be entirely residential. Instead of commercial space on the ground floor, you’ll find, as Joe puts it, a “rambling lobby,” awarded Best Lobby by Chicago Social magazine.

Accompanying the white sofa constructed of discarded seat belts is a four-screen video installation designed by the developer’s brother. (EDIT: Thanks, Marc.)

Correction: the video art was made by the developer’s brother, Lincoln Schatz.
