Is Chicago’s hyperactive condo conversion market finally taking a chill pill? Compiling a little guide to current conversion projects we notice that The Habitat Company has changed its mind about converting the apartment building, The Algonquin at Hyde Park, into condos and has sold it to a mystery buyer.
(We say ‘mystery’ because so far we’ve been given the run-around whenever we ask about the new buyer). But the new management company for the building tells us it will remain an apartment building.
