Is work imminent on South Loop apartment site?

by Joe Zekas on 10/22/12

Last February, when AMLI Residential announced its plans for two 11-story buildings with a total of 398 apartments on the southwest corner of Clark and Polk in the South Loop, the armchair critics were critical.

We’ve heard little about the project since that time.

I was in the South Loop last Friday, and stopped by the site to check for progress. It looked like soil boring and testing was underway – an indication that the start of construction may be near.

You can follow the status of new downtown apartment projects on our comprehensive at-a-glance list.
