January deals on Mondial River West 2-bedrooms

by Joe Zekas on 1/4/13

It’s January and the seasoned Chicago renter knows that many landlords, anxious to fill their winter vacancies, are offering limited-time deals.

The landlords I’ve spoken with this week have few vacancies and have seen surprisingly strong traffic and lease signings. It’s definitely not a renters’ market in the downtown and near north lakefront neighborhoods I’ve been sampling, but there are some special offers out there.

Mondial River West, which we recently toured in the sponsored video above, is offering six months of free parking (normally $175 a month), waiver of the normal $400 move-in fee, and a waiver of pet rent for the term of the lease (a savings of $300). The offer only applies to six-month or longer leases starting on or before January 20, and only on two 2-bedroom, 2-bath units renting at $2,670 and $2,960 for 12-month leases.

Mondial was built as a condominium and has the high-quality finishes, enhanced ceiling heights and generous room sizes you’d expect in a condo. One-, two- and three-bedroom apartments offer great city and skyline views, and a rooftop club room and sundeck have panoramic views in all directions.

Mondial’s location offers quick access to the CTA Blue Line, with connections to downtown and O’Hare Airport, easy expressway access, and nearby bus service.

$2700-$3000 for a 2BD? That’s insane!

You need to get out more, pedro.

You’re not going to find 2-bedroom, 2-bath units in the newer buildings downtown for much less – if at all.

This market is crazy, I’ve been looking for a month, and every decent apartment is off the market within days, I feel like I can’t move fast enough.

I’m glad I no longer rent.
