Jeanne Gang named a MacArthur Fellow

Chicago architect Jeanne Gang has been named one of twenty-two 2011 MacArthur Fellows, a distinction that comes with a no-strings attached grant of $500,000. MacArthur Fellows are “individuals who have shown exceptional creativity in their work and the promise to do more.”

The grant announcement describes her as “challenging the aesthetic and technical possibilities of the art form in a wide range of structures.”

Back in March of 2007 we shot video of Ms Gang answering questions about Aqua, prior to its completion.
