Koenig & Strey Foundation beautifies a Little City home

Joe Stacy, VP and Managing Broker for Koenig & Strey’s Schaumburg office and Chairman of the Koenig & Strey Foundation coordinated with Little City’s Catrina Johnson, Manager of Volunteer Services and Shawna C. Egan, Director of Community Outreach & Engagement to put together a day of beautification for one of the Little City Foundation resident homes located in Schaumburg.

On May 11th the Koenig & Strey Foundation partnered with Little City Foundation to provide Schaumburg and nearby residents a secure way of disposing of important documents and other household items by hosting a Shred & Dump Day. This event raised more than $3,000 in donations which were used to purchase much of the plants and supplies used a home beautification project.

Many of Joe’s colleagues from the Koenig & Strey Schaumburg office along with some of their families volunteered their time by gardening, planting flowers, and all around clean-up to help spruce up this resident home. Chris McCarthy, owner of 99perroom.com volunteered his staff to paint the entire interior of this home as well as a second Little City resident home in Schaumburg. Chris’s paint suppliers Sherwin Williams and ReNew Paint donated approximately 60 gallons of paint.

This event took place in the Koenig & Strey annual Week of Kindness when offices reach out to their local communities in a positive giving way. The Schaumburg office is hoping their new relationship with the folks at Little City will become long lasting with many more events.
