Triangle Neighbors, one of the best organized neighborhood groups on the North Side, is less than $50,000 away from purchasing a second lot, at 817 W Roscoe St, for construction of Space Park. The group already bought the contiguous lot at 815 W Roscoe and hopes to come up with the remainder of the $250,000 it needs to buy the second lot by Dec. 31. As you might have guessed, the proposed park is being named for something in short supply in this dense corner of Lake View.
Triangle Neighbors will maintain the park once it’s built – watering, cutting, cleaning, etc. Plans call for an environmentally friendly space with cooperative gardening surrounded by a brick wall and an iron gate that will be locked at night.
