Lincoln Park 2520: Coming in…2034?

by Joseph Askins on 11/20/09

Lincoln Park 2520 offers the chance of a lifetime, for a building such as this on Chicago’s lakefront will not be built for a generation or more.

- Chicago Agent Magazine, demonstrating either a sly sense of humor or a poor choice of words in the writeup for its Favorite Overall New Development (City) for 2009.

Not that we can snark too much — New Homes did name X/O the best new high-rise development of 2007. It happens.

Sorry, Joseph, you got it wrong. This award was actually voted on by Chicagoland agents in Chicago Agent magazine’s fourth annual Agents’ Choice Awards – 2009. We survey thousands of residential agents asking them for their favorite choices in a number of categories. Although I do love LP2520, my personal opinion and that of the Chicago Agent staff is not reflected in the award. For a full list of winners you can go to

Sorry, Marci, but you’ve read this wrong.

Joe Askins accurately, I believe, quoted your magazine’s write-up. He was simply poking fun at its ambiguity, not suggesting that the development was the magazine’s choice.

The link you’ve provided is the same one that Joe provided in his write-up.

To snark again;
If it’s a “chance of a lifetime”, but “another building like this will not be built in a generation or more”, couldn’t I wait 20-25 years and have a second chance in my lifetime?
And, I might even be able to afford something there by the time I’m in my 50s.
