Lincoln Park’s impressive vintage apartment lobbies

Some new apartment buildings design their lobbies to impress, hoping for rental success, but none are as impressive as the grand, ornately decorated lobbies often found in large vintage buildings from the 1920s. Even the lobbies of new buildings that aspire to the height of luxury and an aura of long-settled grace fail to match the architectural embellishments that were once commonplace in buildings with far more modest accommodations.

I’ve recently visited three of Lincoln Park‘s more opulent apartment lobbies: the Belden-Stratford, 2300 N Lincoln Park West, above, and 443 and 451 W Wrightwood, below.

Is there a recent apartment building lobby that rivals any of these, taking into account changed tastes over time?
