Living by the El – it's not so bad

With all the talk recently of hooting owls invading the silence of suburbia, it’s nice to be reminded of the hustle and bustle of city life. The Trib wrote Sunday about a couple overjoyed to find their dream home – right next to the El tracks.

[Shannon] Tauschman will take the tracks and other elements of the city. “I liked the idea of living near the ‘L’; it’s very urban. I don’t like an area where it’s completely dark and silent,” she said. “People who like to walk in the forest – that to me is just beyond creepy and I couldn’t do it.”

Misha Immormino, a real estate agent with Dream Town Realty in Chicago, said “for some it feels ‘urban’ to be near a train. It’s the convenience of catching a train a few steps from their door.”
