A peek inside the Lofts at Lakeview Collection

Interior of Lofts at Lakeview Collection

The loft-style condos at Lofts at Lakeview Collection, 3201 N Ashland Ave, were designed by Anna Simone of Cecconi Simone Inc. Simone has worked on projects around the globe, from Canada to Dubai.

closet We took a tour of a model unit – a one-bedroom with a den and 1.5 baths – on Monday to see Simone’s style. One-bedrooms with a den run from 884 square feet to 952 square feet and cost from $339,900 to the $380s, according to Michelle Potvin, a sales associate with Centrum Properties, the developer. We noticed four details that made the model feel distinctive:

Large closet space

The closet for the master bedroom (at left) had a lot of built-in shelves (the only upgrade in this model besides the fireplace), and is placed conveniently next to the bathrooms.

Gallery wall

Many of Simone’s designs include “gallery walls,” according to Potvin. The wall in the model unit extends from the dining area to the living room. Photos and drawings were neatly aligned along the wall. The wall is tall and long, so people can see the images from several rooms in the unit.

Unusual finishes

The Italian LineaQuattro kitchen cabinets, in a dark brown veneer, were some of the most unusual we’ve seen, as were the custom-made Corian sinks in the bathrooms. These are are rectangular and have a slot in the back instead of a drain. Both finishes are standard.

Fluid design

The model was small, but sliding glass doors in the bedroom and bathroom helped make the unit feel bigger and open.
